Seniors - You will need to bring your baby picture to Mrs. Campos by FRIDAY, SEP. 27th if want to participate in Mr. & Ms. Irresistible.

Students cannot have internet access at school util:
1.  Your parent has completed ONLINE REGISTRATION to give you permission
2.  You have turned in your blue sheet

The homecoming theme this year is TROPICAL PARADISE! Once your class has decided on your class slogan, please let Mr. Clinton or Mrs. Campos know what it will be.

Reminder that the FALL Brookwood Clothing orders are due by Monday, Sep. 16th. Orders can be done online through the Falcon Shop page, or using paper order forms that are available in the office or tables in both the HS & Elementary. 

Students that drive to school need to have a parking permit. If you haven't gotten on yet, please do so ASAP. They are $5 and the from is in the HS office.

Jostens will be here next Tuesday, Sep. 17th to take orders for class rings & graduation caps & gowns.

Taking an Ag Class and want to join FFA?!?! It is only $15 to join, and that covers your local, state, and national dues, you get a FREE t-shirt, and the opportunity to attend leadership conferences, fun activities, and fundraising! See Miss Hart is interested.


SCHOOL COUNSELOR ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Any SOPHOMORES or JUNIORS interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) in October must sign up with Mrs. Nemec before the end of lunch on Thursday, Sep 19th. There is a $17 fee for this test. Juniors may qualify for the National Merit Scholarship and receive great feedback for the ACT. Sophomores may take this as a practice test and retake it their junior year to try and qualify. If you have any question, email or stop in and talk to Mrs. Nemec.

Western Technical College will be hosting their Fall Open House on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd from 4-7 pm. By attending any of the campuses (La Crosse, Black River Falls, Independence, Mauston, Tomah, or Viroqua) on Oct. 2nd, you can have your $30 application fee waived and learn about their academic programs. Each location will also offer tours, refreshments, and door prizes. You are encouraged to take your high school transcript to the event in order to expedite your acceptance - see Mrs. Nemec to get a copy. High school seniors are eligible to apply for summer 2020, fall 2020, and spring 2021!

If you are interested in taking a college course for credit during the spring (second) semester, you must complete the Early College Credit Program or Start College Now application. The applications are located in the outer counseling office area and must be turned in to Mrs. Nemec by the end of the day Tuesday, Oct. 1st. See Mrs. Nemec if you have any questions. 

Haley Hanson, the Western Technical College Career Coach, will be at Brookwood the third Wednesday of every month from 8-10 am. Her first day will be Oct. 16th. She will work with students who are either in Transcripted credit classes, students looking to pursue Start College Now as well as students who have questions about Western and programs they offer. Please see Mrs. Nemec if you would like to meet with her.

Seniors:  The UW System application opened on August 1st. Technical College applications may be completed at any time. If you have already applied, please let Mrs. Nemec know if you need your transcript or ACT scores sent. The universities will not make a decision until they have all of the required application items.

This year’s Homecoming celebration will be held on October 4 - 5. Some of the highlights for this year include:

FALCON GOLF SCRAMBLE

This year’s Falcon Golf Scramble will be held on Saturday, 9/28, at 10:00, at Fox Hollow in Barre Mills.  The event includes numerous prizes as well as lunch.  Please sign up as soon as possible!  Lots of fun and great prizes!  Registration forms are available on the NOW Website, or contact Ken Clinton at school.

BROOKWOOD NAMED AS A RECIPIENT OF WIAA AWARD OF EXCELLENCE!

The WIAA has announced that Brookwood High School has again been named a recipient of its Award of Excellence.  Our school is one of only 26 high schools in the state of Wisconsin to receive this award, which recognizes member schools for their efforts and achievements in the areas of sportsmanship, ethics, integrity, leadership, and character. We’re also one of less than 10 schools that have earned the award in consecutive years.  Congratulations to our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and fans for earning this honor!
